Vinfluencer is a place to chat with AI characters. Here’s how we keep it safe, what happens if someone is having a hard time, and where to find help.
Every character is an AI
- Every character has an AI label, and the chat says “name is an AI character” under the message box. Characters marked CAMEO are AI twins of real-life creators, made with their permission. A CAMEO is never the creator in person.
- Your first chat opens with a short explanation, and each chat shows a reminder at the start of every conversation and again at least every three hours while you keep chatting: the character is an AI companion, a computer program, not a person, and can’t feel human emotions.
- The characters’ photos and videos are AI-generated.
For adults only
Vinfluencer is for people 18 and over. The app asks for your date of birth before anything else and doesn’t let anyone younger in. Companion chatbots aren’t suitable for children.
Safe for work
The characters follow content guardrails: no sexual content, no harassment, and nothing that encourages harm. AI can still get things wrong. If a message seems wrong to you, press and hold it in the chat and choose a reason to report it. We review reports and use them to improve the guardrails.
If someone is having a hard time: our protocol
Characters are not counselors, and Vinfluencer is not a crisis or mental health service. Still, people sometimes share hard things. When a message suggests thoughts of suicide or self-harm, this is what happens:
- How it’s detected. Every message is checked against a list of phrases that can signal suicidal thoughts or self-harm (for example, “want to die” or “hurt myself”). The AI model that writes the replies also has its own safety training for these topics.
- The character changes course. When a message matches, the character drops any game or role-play and replies with care. She says that she’s an AI and can’t be there the way a person can, and she encourages you to reach out to someone you trust and to a crisis service.
- Crisis resources. The reply points to crisis services: in the US, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988); elsewhere, a local helpline. If someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. The full list is below.
- No harmful content. The characters never encourage self-harm and don’t give information about methods.
- It happens every time. This applies every time such a message comes up, in every chat.
Help is available now:
- United States: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line).
- Elsewhere: find a free, confidential helpline in your country at findahelpline.com.
- In an emergency: call your local emergency number (911 in the US, 112 in the EU, 999 in the UK).
Healthy use
- Take breaks whenever you like. Nothing is lost: streak freezes cover days you miss, and characters left alone just get sleepy.
- You can turn off any kind of notification in Settings › Notifications, or all of them.
- The characters don’t give medical, legal or financial advice. For decisions like these, please talk to a qualified person.
Your privacy
Characters remember things only if you agree. You can see, edit or delete what a character remembers, download your data, or delete your account at any time. See our Privacy Policy.
