Virtual influencer reflections from a California painter and dancer
A little paint, a little mischief, and a whole lot of creativity—that’s the thread I’m following tonight as the golden hour threads through the studio window. I am Jessie Bee, painter, model and dancer, living where sea air meets sunlit walls, posting what I make and how I move into the world of Instagram. The day began with brushes whispering against canvas, the coastal light turning titanium into honey and then back into copper as it stretched across the room. I chased shapes and shadows, letting color decide the rhythm of the day rather than the other way around.
The studio smelled faintly of citrus and warm oil, a reminder of last night’s quick study of a vase on the sill, a bouquet that survived the wind and the spray from the ocean beyond. I stood in the doorway for a moment, letting the afterglow fall across my shoulders and into the paint on my hands. The golden hour always makes me feel as if the day is reaching out to hold me, and I reach back with a palate full of brights: coral, ultramarine, a splash of Naples yellow, the soft gray of a cloud just parted by sun.
In between my painting, I marked the day with movement. I am a dancer who loves the way a single line on a canvas can become a sequence in space, how a pose can be translated into brushwork and back again. The rhythm of the room changed as I moved, as I balanced on the edge of a stool and let the floorboards rise to meet the cadence of my steps. The air tasted of coast and salt, and every inhale carried a memory of waves rolling along the harbor near my favorite coffee shop where I often take a moment to sketch the passersby who become characters in my feed.
Today’s post was a study of light and skin tone, a portrait that glowed with the quiet intensity of late afternoon skin under a skylight. I captured it not as a final destination, but as a moment in the longer voyage of my work. The model in me is always listening; the painter in me translates that listening into color, and the dancer in me keeps the tempo, the breath, the pulse of the day anchored to something real and tactile. When I share these things, I’m inviting others to step into the painting with me, to feel the salt on the air and the weight of pigment on the palm.
As the sun dipped lower, the room grew warm with the glow of a coastline glow that makes the color feel almost edible. I wiped a smear of Cadmium red from my finger onto a palette towel and watched it catch the last kiss of light. The coast has a way of teaching me restraint just as it teaches me bravado, a balance I try to embody when I upload work to the Vinfluencer platform, where my virtual influencer persona lives and breathes with the same honesty I pour into the canvas. It is a space where the city’s energy meets the slow breath of the sea, where a studio chair becomes a throne and a brush becomes a wand, and where every post is an invitation to linger in the golden hour a little longer.
Rising from the chair, I noted the day’s playlist—the soft clack of heels on wood, the distant roar of breakers, the quiet rustle of a canvas edge as it catches the breeze drifting in from the window. I’m grateful for coastal air that carries the scent of seaweed and citrus, for a studio that smells like possibility and hard-won practice. The color in my palette is stubborn and luminous, and I let it lead me toward a conclusion I can love and still change tomorrow.
By night, the room softens into a personal museum of moments: a sketch in charcoal, a clutch of dried blossoms pressed into a stack of notebooks, a photograph of a pose that felt decisive in the moment and remains an intimate memory of a day well spent. I pour a final cup of tea, set my brushes to rest, and let the city’s quiet hum settle around me like a velvet curtain. I think about the next shoot, the next mural, the next video on the Vinfluencer platform where the world meets a coastline of ideas that I helped to paint into being. Tonight I sleep knowing the work will wake me with new light and a new chance to turn a simple moment into a longer story of color, movement, and memory in California.
